A Thriving 21st Century Medical Practice Requires Understanding the Patient (Webinar)

When EHR software was first being developed, most could not imagine the day when the EHR would be the center of patient engagement. In fact, the concept of using the EHR to truly understand and engage the patient was a completely foreign idea. Instead, the emerging technology was originally paired with the practice management system to create an electronic billing system.

While billing and electronic documentation were the original goals of EHR systems, it did open the medical community’s eyes to a wide variety of opportunities to utilize technology to do so much more for their patients. Things that previously were extremely challenging or impossible were now possible. In fact, many doctors don’t remember this origin and wonder why EHRs don't do more for improving patient care and medical practices. That wasn’t the original goal, but it is now.

While we would have all liked to see technology and EHR software improve healthcare faster, I believe we now have the technology foundation built to enable rapid innovation in how we understand and care for the patient. In fact, a thriving medical practice today will require technology that helps a practice better engage and understand the patient.

How well do you understand your patients’ needs? Do you have the right technology to engage, understand and interact with your patients?

Understanding Patients: The Secret to a Thriving 21st Century Medical Practice

The reality is that technology opens the doors to a wide variety of new opportunities that many of us had not even considered previously. It is time to start capitalizing on these opportunities and personalizing our interactions with our patients. Not only is it the right thing to do for patients, but it’s the right thing to do if you want a successful medical practice in today's world.

Don’t believe that using technology to understand and engage your patient matters to your practice? Changing reimbursement models and physician reputation websites are both making understanding your patient a requirement. Those practices that do not create a deep relationship with their patients will be financially left behind as we move to value-based reimbursement models. Plus, your medical practice's ability to engage the patient is going to be reflected on the most popular physician rating and reputation websites on the market. If your practice is not understanding the patient and engaging with them, your physician rating will suffer.

Technology has opened up a whole new world of patient understanding that was impossible in a paper world. As more and more practices leverage this technology to better serve their patients, make sure your practice isn't left behind. Join us at our webinar to learn more about how technology can better enable your practice to more effectively understand and engage your patients.
